IMPORTANT NOTE
A solid understanding of vintage garment construction is highly recommended.
Patterns from this era come from source material that contains much less instruction than modern patterns. Publications like Harper’s Bazar assumed that home seamstresses already possessed the necessary skills to complete garments with little to no guidance.
These vintage patterns may be missing:
-
Facings
-
Lining pieces
-
Construction steps for trims or finishes
Please be aware:
-
Patterns run small compared to modern sizes.
-
They were designed to be worn over structured undergarments like corsets.
-
Armholes especially tend to be much tighter and higher than contemporary garments.
We strongly recommend making a mock-up (toile) in muslin or another test fabric before cutting into your final materials. Use the mock-up to make any necessary adjustments for your personal fit.
Patterns are reproduced directly from original source material without alterations, to preserve historical accuracy.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND
This is an exact copy of the original vintage pattern. It may retain any original formatting errors or drafting inconsistencies.
While I have sewn some of these patterns, I have not tested all of them, so I cannot guarantee accuracy or fit. As always, create a test garment before committing to your final fabric.
