IMPORTANT NOTE
A solid understanding of vintage garment construction is highly recommended.
These early patterns often include very little instruction, especially compared to patterns from the 1920s and 1930s. Pattern makers at the time assumed the home seamstress had the skill to complete garments without detailed directions.
As a result:
-
Facings, linings, and trim instructions may be missing or extremely vague
-
Yardage information and size details are sometimes incomplete or absent
-
Armholes and fit tend to be smaller than modern patterns
-
These were drafted with the expectation that "proper" undergarments and corsets would be worn
Because of this, it is very important to create a fitting mock-up (muslin) and make any necessary adjustments to fit your individual figure before cutting your final fabric.
All patterns are reproduced exactly from the original source material in order to retain historical accuracy.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND
This is an exact reproduction of a vintage pattern and may include any original formatting errors or miscalculations. While I have made up some of these patterns, I have not tested them all and cannot guarantee a perfect fit.
As with all garment construction, always make a mock-up in test fabric first.
