Download ON LY the size necessary for your location. Pages will need to taped together, but once assembled, pieces are full sized and ready to use. This PDF reproduction sewing pattern features Girl's Tam O'Shanter Hat in two styles, sized to fit a 21 inch head - Style One has a shirred crown without a center circle, the hat body is attached to the headband with pleats. Style Two has a shirred crown attached to a center circle, and it attaches to the headband with gathering rather than pleats. The pleating or gathering is interchangeable depending upon your preference. NOTE: Directions for how to make a tassel are NOT included with this pattern, however, they are easily found on-line. Pattern dating is between 1916 and 1918. The 21 inch head sizing seems more consistent with an older child/teen, not a baby, although there is wiggle room to alter a bit smaller/larger by adjusting the pleats/gathering and the headband length. Easy hat to do. I completely sewed mine by hand on a ten hour flight! I added an inch to the circumference for an “adult” head. There was not a pattern piece for the tassel nob, so I just covered a large button with fabric and tacked it on.
