From 1929 (and early 1930) this gown features a draped cowl-style neckline in the front, and a deep V-neckline at the back. A set of three narrow tucks at the waistline shapes the front. A gathered girdle at center front with a purchased buckle fits the gown closely at the hips. The skirt is cut to hang in long points, with an attached drape at the center back.

See below for a review of this pattern:
'The most time consuming part of construction was figuring out how to assemble the pieces (a dress form is absolutely essential), but sewing was very simple thereafter. I chose to include a zipper for my closure and took several inches out of the bodice to compensate; the result was a very good fit - this really is a dazzling gown.'

Photo #9 shows advertisement in McCall Style News, January 1930, with the caption "Graceful Lines that flatter the Figure lend New Elegance to Paris Evening Fashions."

Photo #6 shows a modified neckline as the seamstress did not care for the original cowl neck draping and #7 (group photo), the mint green dress on the right is this pattern.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND
This is an exact copy of the original vintage pattern and as such may retain any original errors or miscalculations in formatting native to the original pattern. While I have made up some of these patterns, I have not tested them all out and cannot attest to their accuracy or perfect fit. As with all garment construction, it is best to make a mock-up for fitting in test fabric prior to cutting and constructing with your final fashion fabric.
