This frock features a collar in either rounded or pointed style, with or without the front neckline tie. The long sleeves have gently rounded, turn-back cuffs, the bodice being slightly bloused and held in place at the hip with a belt. The skirt is deeply pleated, and attached to the bodice along an chic step-like design, which may be hem-stitched or piped at the edges. Below is a review of this pattern:
'I have just completed the second of two Art Deco frocks I made using this pattern. We're traveling to New Zealand for an Art Deco Festival and this dress seemed the absolute perfect choice. I made one in Teal with Chocolate pleats and trim and another in Black and Winter-White, pleats and trimmings in black. The black and white dress is very dramatic looking and I'm sure will be the bell of the street festival. The dresses frankly look amazing, even if I do say so myself and are worth the mammoth effort I have put into them. I had to scale the pattern up for my friend and I spent weeks after work fitting her and refitting her. There are a couple of small problems with the pattern. The tie end piece is uneven and I didn't spot that until after I cut out that piece. Also, the cuffs aren't symmetrical. However, the instructions did advise me to check that so it's my fault that I didn't. Other than that I found the pattern easy to follow. I would strongly recommend fitting with a test muslin, basting every seam before sewing and ironing every seam after sewing. It makes the world of difference to the look of the finished garment.'
