From 1927, "The new materials in fanciful patterns - conservative and futuristic designs - make attractive frocks when copied from this pattern. Its slim straight lines are broke below the hips with a graceful, flaring skirt, circular in design, attached to the long waisted body. Drooping shoulders that form abbreviated sleeves may be lengthened with long sleeves gathered into wristbands. The fronts of the waist are open from the neck to top of skirt and close by means of a ribbon tie with long ends. A smart collar finishes then neck; it rolls with the front, forming revers (lapels). Smartly tailored welts lend added chic to the frock."
