This PDF download is for a 1930 Ladies coat sized to fit a 34 inch bust. Coat features optional split cape attached at neckline, two style sleeve, straight or flounced with split detailing to compliment the cape. Coat has self belt and patch pockets. NOTE: This is not recommended for a novice sewer. This includes pattern pieces, layout and yardage, but minimal directions (typical of the era). You will need to know about coat construction (especially lining) for this to work up successfully. Thanks to Laura for the fabulous photos she sent, she designed her coat using red velvet with a red satin lining.... absolutely swoon worthy! A note about the sizing - this was actually reproduced from a size 36 pattern with the notation that it fits snug in the hip. After our tester worked this up, she felt it tight at the back when moving arms, so I would estimate the ideal fitting size is 34 with minimal clothing under. If you're planning to wear layers under this coat, it would best fit a bust size 32. Suggested fabrics include - Woolens, Cashmere, Camelhair Coatings, Velveteen, Wool Crepe Fabric required for size given: COAT WITH CAPE 35 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 4-5/8 Yards 39 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 4-1/4 Yards 54 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 3-1/8 Yards COAT WITH SLEEVE FLOUNCE 35 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 4-1/8 Yards 39 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 3-7/8 Yards 54 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 2-3/4 Yards COAT WITHOUT CAPE 35 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 3-3/4 Yards 39 Inch Wide Material With or Without Nap - 3-5/8 Yards A B or C Lining - 39 Inch Wide Material - 2-1/4 Yards This McCall pattern was originally created by Dec. 30, 1939 and has been re-digitized into it's current format.
