See below for a review of this pattern:
"I made it in a black satin. As it seemed to be cut low under the left arm, I raised this area by several inches. What a great decision! It fits a modern size 12-14, is made for the tall woman, and does not allow for a full bust (typical of the period). Must keep the pattern pieces laid out so you can see them as the dress is being put together, otherwise it's too confusing. Beautiful dress!"
This McCall pattern was originally created by Dec. 30, 1939 and has been re-digitized into it's current format. All content falls under the copyright www.BeespokeVintagePatterns.com 2006, and as such, no portion of this pattern may be photocopied or reproduced by any means without written consent.
Photo #4 (center 2 models) show the dress as advertised in McCall Style News, November 1930. This fascinating dress clearly shows the 'out with the old' 1920s boxy frocks, and 'in with the new' streamlined, body hugging, bias draping we see for much of the 1930s.
Patterns are reproduced directly from the original source material, with no changes in order to retain the historical accuracy of the pattern. Prior sewing experience and knowledge of working with vintage patterns is recommended.

This is an exact copy of the original vintage pattern and as such may retain any original errors or miscalculations in formatting native to the original pattern. While I have made up some of these patterns, I have not tested them all out and cannot attest to their accuracy or perfect fit. As with all garment construction, it is best to make a mock-up for fitting in test fabric prior to cutting and constructing with your final fashion fabric.
