From 1936 - "Misses' and Women's Afternoon Dress. For a simple yet attractive frock, Style 1 is the ideal choice with its unique sleeve which is in one with the shirred front blouse. A soft high collar trims the neck and a tapering panel distinguishes the skirt. Style 2 cuts the short sleeves in on with the yoke and adds shirring for blouse fullness." Dress in photo 2 was made using View 2. Designed as a dress, creating the skirt in a wool pinstripe and the bodice in a handkerchief linen gives it a two-piece look. Although not shown in photo, pressing the skirt center panel inward as a pleat, would give this more of a crisp, business vibe. Purchased scarf and belt are shown.
