SUGGESTED MATERIALS: Sheer Dress Woolens, Velvet, Silk Crepe, Satin, Rayon, Cotton, Linen Dress With Long Sleeves, Contrast Neck And Sleeve Trim: 39 Inch Wide Material - Without Nap 3-5/8 Yards (AND) 39 Inch Wide Contrast Material - Without Nap 7/8 Yard Dress With Three-Quarter Sleeve, With Contrast Neck And Sleeve Trim: 39 Inch Wide Material - Without Nap 3-3/4 Yards (AND) 39 Inch Wide Contrast Material - Without Nap 1/2 Yard See below for a review of this pattern: "Pattern was intact, though there wasn't a piece to finish the back neck edge. In the cutting layout they told you to cut 4 center fronts, and I figured the extras were to line the front and thus finish the neckline/front edge. I lined the whole dress as I made it of a wool blend, so I didn't run in to any difficulty. When the instructions tell you to bind the slash for the neck trim between the two dots, the slash is much narrower than shown in the cover illustration. I left it narrow. The neck trim has instructions on piecing the length. At first I didn't understand why the piecing occurred where it did, but it hides under the bodice if you put it where they tell you to. I did shorten the neck drape by several inches. The length is shorter on me (5'9") than shown in the drawing. The sleeves were very comfortable in diameter, which I found surprising. I made a self fabric belt from the same fabric as the neck & sleeve trim." This New York pattern was originally created by Dec. 30, 1939 and has been re-digitized into it's current format.
