This replicated pattern is sized to fit a 32 inch bust / 27 inch waist/ 35 inch hip. This reproduction 1938 sewing pattern features a Ladies Gown with a close fitting, bodice with a full sweeping skirt. The back is daringly bare, while front is a flattering sweet-heart neckline. The gown is constructed with princess seams, and has a left side opening. SUGGESTED FABRICS: Crepes, Taffeta, Velvet, Satin, Silk, Rayon Dress As Shown 39 Inch Wide Material (without nap) 7-1/4 Yards 54 Inch Wide Material (without nap) 6-7/8 Yards If you ever have the opportunity to watch "Wife Versus Secretary" with Myrna Loy (1936), wait for the party/dance scene. There you see the front and back version, and in my opinion, this dress seems to be an exact match. Plain, understated, elegant, and yet quite dramatic.... Suggested Fabrics: Crepes, Taffeta, Velvet, Satin, Silk, Rayon This McCall pattern was originally created by Dec. 30, 1939 and has been re-digitized into it's current format. **PLEASE KEEP IN MIND**

This is an exact copy of the original vintage pattern and as such may retain any original errors or miscalculations in formatting native to the original pattern.  While I have made up some of these patterns, I have not tested them all out and cannot attest to their accuracy or perfect fit.  As with all garment construction, it is best to make a mock-up for fitting in test fabric prior to cutting and constructing with your final fashion fabric.
