I made this pattern twice out of two different cotton fabrics: a yellow large floral cotton voile with the shawl collar, and a white cotton eyelet with the ruffled collar. Both versions made up very well. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow.' I used this pattern to make 3 separate dresses for 3 vastly different sized actresses playing the same roll. It worked for everyone!. I used a knit jersey calico print. The pattern needed no alteration for 5'9', 5'3' just needed the bottom flare moved up on the bodice. For the jr version 4'5', I downsized the entire pattern by 3 inches. The shawl collar was not straight forward for me and I did need to play around with it a bit. I recommend a ponte knit for the collar to give a little more structure without restricting movement.
