SUGGESTED MATERIALS: Netting, All Over Lace, Velvet, Chiffon, Silk, Crepe Dress As Shown: (Inserted Skirt Flare Cut Crosswise To Avoid Piecing) 52 - 60 Inch Wide Velvet - With Nap 7 Yards Dress Made From Net Or Lace: 72 Inch Wide Net 5 Yards See below for reviews of this pattern: "This dress is made of cotton summer stripe fabric. I was intimidated by the strange pattern shapes, but actually, it was easy. I might make this dress again in an organza, with a silk lining. This one is perfect for the beach anyway. It took me all day on Saturday, but it was finished in time to wear to the Art Deco Ball in San Francisco, the theme was "Flying Down To RIO!'' This was the perfect dress for the event!" "Just precious, although I was able to modify the back in order to install a zipper without tying the flourishes. Super duper pattern" This Butterick pattern was originally created by Dec. 30, 1939 and has been re-digitized into it's current format.
