Hi there!
If we haven’t met yet, I’m Rebecca Russell, owner of BeespokeVintage, where I create custom historical clothing and curate immersive historical events.
I am beyond thrilled to announce that in February 2025, I officially took ownership of the Vintage Pattern Lending Library! It is both an honor and a privilege to step into this role, and I look forward to upholding the incredible legacy of this cherished company.
Originally founded in 1998 by Deirdre Duggan, VPLL has been dedicated to cataloging, preserving, and making historic fashion patterns available to the sewing community. Thanks to its unwavering commitment over the past 27 years, countless rare and beautiful designs have been saved from obscurity and made accessible in both paper and digital formats.
As I integrate VPLL into BeespokeVintage, I ask for your patience over the next few months while I work through inventory, logistics, and updating the catalog. My goal is to ensure that these incredible patterns remain available—and even more accessible—to historical sewing enthusiasts like you.

A beautiful pattern, easy to cut out. It is simple to put together. Very impressed.
The fit around the arm was weird to me, however, the pattern is really simple to adjust if you need to fit to your own measurements. If you have basic knowledge of sewing patterns you can certainly change and adjust as you need. My final garment was really beautiful and I was glad to have this sewing pattern to get the basic idea on how to make it.
Easy to download and follow
Great vintage look. If you're looking for an old-style cape, cocoon shape, with dramatic collar it's perfect. Instructions are a bit hard to understand, so you should have experience sewing if you want to get through it. Also takes a good bit of hand sewing. Was happy with how it turned out.
Great PDF package. Able to understand and put together.
Haven't made it yet but for a vintage garment the instructions seem pretty clear.

Super cute hats — constructed with hand-stitched inner band within an hour and a half.
Adorable pattern that doesn't require a great deal of fabric per piece. I will have fun with this!
These hats are a hoot and are a great stash-buster! They also do not require a lot of printing. Get this pattern and have a hat party with your friends!
